About Fire Safe Chimney Sweep
In 1981, seeing the need in his community for a reliable and trustworthy chimney sweeping service, professional firefighter, Bob Perera, founded Fire Safe Chimney Sweep. The company was originally formed solely for chimney cleaning service, but over the past three decades, it has developed into a full- service chimney company, offering various chimney repairs, chimney re-linings, chimney sweeping, chimney cap installations, wood stove installations, and much more.
Now, a recently retired Fire Captain, Bob is no longer working at the fire department, but he’s still as much involved with his chimney company as before, and his passion for fire safety is still as present as ever.
For over 39 years, our company has been serving the surrounding communities, which include Orange, Durham, Alamance, Chatham, and Caswell counties, with our chimney-related expertise in addition to the several other services we offer. With each new year, we look back pleased with what we’ve been able to offer our community, and we continue to look ahead to any exciting new things the future may hold. He is NFI (National Fireplace Institute)-certified. Bob served the city of Durham, NC as a firefighter for 34 years.
